So what is protein and where do you get it?

Protein is an essential nutrient for your body. It’s helps your body repair itself and also provides you with energy. It is found in things like meat, fish, eggs, nuts, yoghurt and cheese.

So why should you eat it?

1.It’s essential for growth and repair

This doesn’t just mean building big muscles. Your body is constantly breaking down and repairing itself, think about how your hair falls out and regrows. Protein is super important to make sure all this happens as it should.

2.It keeps you full!

Eating some form of protein with every meal will keep you more full for longer. Meaning you’ll be less likely to snack between meals.

3.It stops you over eating on fats & carbs

If you always include some form of protein on your plate, say for example a chicken breast, you’ll then need less of things like chips, potatoes, rice, pasta to feel full. Try eating your normal serving of pasta and a chicken breast, you’ll struggle!

Have some form of protein with every meal and watch your body change!
